Hello, Space!
A Little Story for Tiny Explorers
Page 1
Look up, look up! What do you see? The big, blue sky, As tall as a tree!
(Illustration Idea: A toddler standing on green grass looking up at a bright blue sky with a few fluffy white clouds.)
Page 2
Wink, wink! The Sun is a giant, yellow ball. It’s warm and bright and very tall. It says, “Wake up! The day is new!” The Sun sends a warm hug down to you.
(Illustration Idea: A big, smiling yellow sun with gentle rays reaching down.)
Page 3
Zoom, zoom! Put on your boots. Put on your suit. You look so brave! You look so cute! Hop in the rocket—climb up high. We’re going to fly into the sky!
(Illustration Idea: A toddler in a sparkly silver spacesuit stepping into a small, colorful rocket ship.)
Page 4
3… 2… 1… BLAST OFF! The rocket goes Whoosh! The rocket goes Pop! Higher and higher, Until we stop!
(Illustration Idea: The rocket leaving Earth with a trail of orange and red fire.)
Page 5
Look! Earth is a marble, shiny and round. Blue for the water, green for the ground. It looks like a toy from way up here. Wave “Bye-bye, Earth! We’ll see you near!”
(Illustration Idea: A beautiful view of the round blue and green Earth floating in dark space.)
Page 6
Floaty, floaty! In space, your toes go up in the air. You can float like a bubble, without a care! No heavy feet, no “thump” on the floor. Just floating and gliding through the stars’ door.
(Illustration Idea: The toddler floating inside the rocket cabin with a juice box and a teddy bear also floating nearby.)
Page 7
Glow, glow! The Moon is a night-light, silver and bright. It watches over us all through the night. Sometimes it’s a circle, sometimes a smile. Let’s stop and visit for a little while.
(Illustration Idea: A large, friendly-looking moon with soft craters that look like polka dots.)
Page 8
Twinkle, twinkle! The stars are like diamonds, tiny and white. They play hide-and-seek in the middle of night. Can you count them? 1, 2, 3… There are more stars than leaves on a tree!
(Illustration Idea: A deep purple sky filled with many glowing, sparkly stars of different sizes.)
Page 9
Yawn… The rocket is tired. It’s time to go home. No more through the stars do we need to roam. Down we go, soft and slow, Back to the house where the flowers grow.
(Illustration Idea: The rocket gently parachuting back down toward a cozy little house under a starry sky.)
Page 10
Snuggle, snuggle. Back in your bed, tucked in so tight. The Moon and the Stars say, “Sweet dreams, goodnight.” Space is so big, and space is so grand, But you are the best thing in all of the land.
(Illustration Idea: The toddler fast asleep in bed, with a toy rocket on the nightstand and the moon visible through the window.)
